Can i synchronize my Apple Ipod which already has heaps of?

music on it to a freshly downloaded itunes library??
So, i've been given an apple ipod for xmas already loaded with music, so can i simply plug it into itunes on my computer and the itunes will store all those tunes into it's library??

No, iTunes can not transfer music files from an iPod to a computer, only the other way around. Fortunately there are other free programs that can do this job, I know of three:
